This position provides expertise in Trade Compliance matters.General scope of responsibilities:- Provide expert advice to configure and maintain proper regulation and legal requirements in SAP GTS for Life Science division in Chile.- Provide expert advice to configure and maintain correct compliance types and rules in SAP Chile.- Set up licenses and maintain SAP GTS for Life Science division. Release purchase orders.- Renew or obtain licenses and product registrations for Life Science division that fall under Regulatory and Trade Compliance responsibility, such as DGMN, SIREGAD, ISP, etc.- Support Trade Compliance related to customs requirements from relevant authorities.- Support the audit of clearance documents to verify the use of correct information and procedures for product importation.- Be responsible for reporting activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.- Ensure the import and export of Life Science products in accordance with local regulations.- Assist in product classification (tariff codes, import and sales controls, etc.).- Ensure regulated product sales are conducted with properly licensed customers.- Monitor new regulations or changes in regulations.- Interact with authorities and engage in advocacy work.- Support risk management in the area.- Comply with the standards established in Merck's Code of Conduct, LS corporate standards, and regional/local procedures.- Execute projects assigned by the supervisor within established deadlines and performance standards.- Implement procedures to ensure regulatory compliance, avoiding business disruptions related to compliance issues.- Support the selection and supervision of external suppliers, as requested by the supervisor.- Accept the nomination as Official Correspondent (Technical Director) of Merck/Sigma before the corresponding local authorities, providing personal documents and signing commitments, as required. Serve as a point of contact with the corresponding local authorities for any issues, such as product registration, inquiries, correspondence, inspections, etc. Oversee all activities that may affect the quality or safety of regulated products, as defined in local regulations.- Accept the nomination as Trade Compliance Officer, assuming responsibility for establishing appropriate compliance procedures, ensuring compliance with those procedures, and maintaining a general understanding of the company's international business operations.
