Field Service Engineer Aftermarket & Field Service · Antofagasta
The Field Engineer is to provide capable and effective field support to Jord clients and projects to ensure the reliable operation of equipment supplied and/or serviced by Jord while working with minimal supervision. This includes installation, alignment, pre-commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, resolution of warranty & performance issues and optimisation of all equipment within Jord's scope of service at a site level. This includes the training of end-user staff and determination of end-user quality improvements. This role will interface directly with Customers, the Aftermarket Sales Team, Spare Parts, Operations Project Managers, Engineering and various levels of Jord management in the execution of the required duties.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide on-site technical support, installation supervision and commissioning support for the equipment Jord supplies and/or services. Perform hands-on, on-site, condition assessment, troubleshooting, service and repairs Provide technical support to external customers to effectively resolve customer issues Provide on-site training of end users or customer staff where required Availability to travel regionally and internationally to fulfil the job position requirements Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained and escalate technical or customer issues to management as necessary Develop and maintain service/site activity information and reports in according with Jord's standard procedures Ensure timely completion of all relevant documentation and paperwork required by the position and any specific assignments Assist in the development and review of technical or quality documentation Proactively communicate continuous improvement feedback through lessons learnt to minimize future problems Support the business to continually evaluate and improve equipment support solutions, sales channels and strategies Inspect components/equipment and support product development and Root Cause Analysis where applicable Present Jord as a professional, capable, reliable and experienced service provider and maintain effective communications with the client during the assignment to ensure satisfaction and implement any necessary corrective action Adhere to all Jord and Customer OH&S, Quality and Environmental requirements Comply with all Jord company policies and Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements Undertake training where required or determined as necessary by the Company Remain flexible to support other duties as reasonably required, either at site, in the region or at Jord offices or sites For example: Business Development & Sales: Attend tradeshows and conferences, assist technical sales visits, reach out to existing Jord's equipment installed base in the region, maintain contact with local vendors in the region Project Activity: Support existing projects in the region, visits/audits workshops in the region, Laboratory/Pilot Work: Support lab and pilot work in the region by installing, troubleshooting, commissioning equipment and ancillary components or coordinating test work and sampling. Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent technical qualifications in mechanical engineering or related trade qualifications A minimum of six years' experience as a Field Services Engineer familiar with process or industrial equipment or suitable similar position Intermediate level (min) English language, both written and spoken to effectively report, cooperate and communicate with English speaking colleagues. Strong communication skills in written and spoken Spanish and the ability to effectively work, cooperate and communicate with client and end users on site. Strong troubleshooting, problem solving skills with good technical aptitude Desire and capability to understand the details of Jord's products and working processes and an enthusiasm to improve them The ability to comprehend technical documentation and drawings IT Systems literate i.e., effective use of computer systems, in- house programs and MS Office suite of programs Strong troubleshooting skills and technical aptitude A high degree of mobility, preparedness to travel for extended periods and the ability to adapt to situations that can be stressful and natural environments that can exhibit extremes in temperature and conditions.
