The Head of ESG - Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) role within ENGIE,is responsible for developing and implementing the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, policies and procedures for ENGIE Chile's business units (GBUs) and all support functions. The Head of ESG will directly lead the Communities and Social Responsibility team, and closely work with the senior management, GBUs, the internal community of Business Process Owners ("BPOs") and external stakeholders to ensure that ENGIE Chile's businesses aligns with the global ESG standards and objectives of the ENGIE Group. The Head of ESG - CSO reports to the country Chief Finance, ESG and Procurement Officer. Head of ESG - CSO Strategic Role The CSO will establish at Country level the sustainability strategy aligned with ENGIE´s objectives, policies and procedures. This strategy will be validated at least on an annual basis by Chile's management and Group´s ESG functional line. The CSO will be the SPOC with sustainability partners and stakeholders. The CSO will build a community of sustainability process owners who will have specific objectives aligned with the sustainability strategy at country level. The CSO will participate in the objectives setting and performance process of each sustainability process owner. The CSO will establish a process with the support of FP&A for data collection, reporting and validation. Each FP&A finance partner will establish a reporting and validation procedure with each sustainability process owner. Responsibilities Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of ENGIE Chile ESG strategy and roadmap, identifying key internal processes and contributors to build a recognized community of ESG process owners. Disseminate an internal culture of sustainability, position the company externally as a sustainable company. Lead ESG initiatives, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, flexible generation, electricity transmission and the overall energy transition, with a One ENGIE Chile approach: one brand, one message to all our stakeholders. All sponsorship initiatives are managed and under responsibility of the Head of ESG. Monitor and report on the ESG performance and impact of ENGIE Chile GBUs, using relevant indicators and frameworks such as the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). Provide support to Business Development and Implementation activities on risk analysis and action plans for mitigation. Implement and monitor comprehensive reporting standards on ESG matters in close coordination with GBUs and FP&A following ENGIE's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive ("CSRD"). This complete set of data is reviewed and validated by the Head of ESG and the country Chief Finance, ESG and Procurement Officer to ensure consistency with financial statements. Coordinating with operational functions, such as social relations and communities, environmental management, finance, investor relations, procurement, regulations, energy management, human resources, legal and ethics, among others, the strategy on governance, environment and social initiatives and the compliance to law and regulatory requirements of ENGIE Chile GBUs. Engage and collaborate with internal (Chile country organization and ENGIE's ESG functional line) and external stakeholders, such as customers, suppliers, regulators, investors, NGOs, and communities, to identify and address the ESG risks and opportunities for ENGIE Chile GBUs. Support the development and implementation of the ESG policies and standards for ENGIE Chile's businesses, in alignment with the ENGIE Group's ESG strategy and vision. Provide guidance and training to the staff and management of ENGIE Chile's on the ESG best practices and expectations. Manage the ESG budget and resources for ENGIE Chile's businesses Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, social science, business administration, economics or related field. Master's degree, specialization in ESG or equivalent is preferred. At least 10 years of professional experience and at least 5 years of experience in ESG management, preferably in the energy industry or related industries. Strong knowledge and understanding of the ESG trends, issues, and standards in the global industry. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with diverse stakeholders. High level of analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and tools to measure and report on the ESG performance and impact. Passionate about sustainability and social responsibility, and committed to the ENGIE Group's values and vision. Other useful skills: Knowledge with world-class impact investing standards, i.e., IFC Performance Standards, BIA, GIIRS and knowledge on Accounting Standards and FP&A best practices on ESG KPIs.
