This position is located in our Santiago Truck Plant and provides a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills while working on both, new products and industrialization projects, affecting manufacturing operations at Daimler Trucks North America. Support industrialization, planning,and new product projects. Provide engineer labor standards for complex manufacturing processes. Design and optimize processes aimed at increasing value add using LEAN thinking.

Main Functions: Provide engineering and economic analysis support in analyzing and designing facilities, work flows, methods, and processes. Participate in capacity planning, new equipment cost justification and make-buy studies.Assist in the development of strategies, standards, guidelines and procedures for documenting and establishing labor standards. Maintain and update existing labor standards. Create labor standards for new designs. Able to interpret engineering diagrams and develop labor estimates and/or standards based on design specifications and existing manufacturing processes.Utilize LEAN methods to plan new processes and work cells, and optimize existing operations aimed at eliminating waste and increasing efficiencies. Recommend design changes to optimize install labor and ergonomics.Perform time and motion studies on complex tasks using standard Industrial Engineering methods, including direct observation or engineered standards.Lead and implement continuous improvement projects focused on Industrial Engineering. Prepare and present to corporate and plant management and project teams.Represent the Industrial Engineering team as the senior member in Santiago. Act as a liaison between Corp IE and the manufacturing plant. Guide and mentor team members.#Trucks
