As Managing Director,
you will be responsible for leading and optimising the operations, management and strategic development of the Espacio Riesco site. You will ensure the sustainable growth of the company while guaranteeing operational excellence and compliance with contractual commitments.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic and commercial development
1. Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with the organisation's long-term objectives.
2. Identify and develop new market opportunities, in particular by increasing the portfolio of events organised and co-organised.
3. Consolidate Santiago's monopoly position in the market for large event venues.
4. Strengthen marketing and sales activities to improve the visibility of the site and attract new customers.
- Operations management
1. Supervise in-house teams (over 115 staff) covering operational, commercial, F and administrative functions.
2. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, in particular the lease with Vida Security and management of the Macrolote D car park.
3. Manage the infrastructure (12,000 m² of main pavilion,
10,000 m² of convention centre and 62,500 m² of outdoor space).
- Financial performance and purchasing
1. Ensure that the site achieves its financial targets and profitability.
2. Optimise operating costs and reduce expenditure, in particular by aligning the company's standards with those of GL.
3. Manage relations with financial partners, lessors and local stakeholders.
4. Oversee the purchasing function to ensure value for money on the various expenditure items.
- Leadership and team management
1. Provide inspirational leadership to a multi-disciplinary and diverse team.
2. Strengthen team cohesion and performance through training and implementation of best practice.
Skills and qualifications
1. Technical skills
1. Expertise in asset management and the operation of large-scale event venues.
2. In-depth knowledge of the exhibitions,
trade shows and events (MICE) sector.
3. Mastery of financial management and strategic planning tools.
4. Significant experience in marketing, business development and purchasing management.
5. Proven leadership with the ability to motivate multi-disciplinary teams.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly for negotiating with strategic partners.
7. Strategic vision combined with an operational focus.
- Profile sought
1. Degree in management, business administration or equivalent field.
2. Significant experience (minimum 10 years) in a general management or similar position, ideally in the events industry, exhibitions or infrastructure.
3. Languages: fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
