Our client has grown into one of the most recognised renewable energy companies in the LATAM region. The company has over 1 GW of early-stage, to fully operational projects across Latin America, and they require a very reliable Safety Manager to ensure everyone in the company operating assets, both wind and solar, complies with health and safety laws.

As the Regional HSE of the company, you will be responsible for establishing policies that will create and maintain a safe workplace, and the goal will be to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations, and actively supports occupational health and safety. Some of your responsibilities include; (i)
to develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace, operating solar and wind plants, according to legal guidelines, (ii) to prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety, (iii) to evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law, (iv) to conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention, (v) to monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and site operations, (vi) to inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions, (vii) to investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims, (viii) to recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures, and (ix) to report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics.
Que necesitas para ser exitoso
The prefect candidate must have a BSc/BA in safety management or relevant field (proven qualifications), must be fluent in English, and have excellent attention to detail to identify hazards. Also, you must be able to discover opportunities for improving conditions and execute various safety programs and must have the ability to effectively communicate guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce. Some basics requirements include; (i) to have proven experience (at least 8 years’ experience) as safety manager, specially understanding deeply the legal health and safety guidelines in all the LATAM countries where the company operates (Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia), (ii) to have strong ability in following safety performance indicators, producing reports and developing relevant policies, data analysis and risk assessment. Also, this shall be a regional position, preferably based in Santiago de Chile, from where it shall overview all the health and safety aspects of all our client’s solar and wind plants in operation in LATAM (Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia), therefore must be available to have frequent travels around all the operating sites in LATAM (>70%).
