You have come to the right place.- Summary:- The primary responsibility of the Purchasing Manager is managing the team that purchases and tracks the materials and supplies needed to ensure the successful completion of projects. This role ensures purchasing policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to. The Purchasing Manager is accountable for performance and driving accountability through metrics and resolving purchasing issues and providing direction and guidance for the Purchasing team.Essential Functions:- Ensures efficient ordering of materials and supplies, along with ensuring said materials and supplies are ordered accurately by team and arrive in a timely manner prior to scheduled installation-- Oversees timely submission of material returns with suppliers as needed-- Ensures team works well with vendors coordinating materials, supplies, and order to determine product availability and terms of sales-- Analyzes market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability-- Administers on-line purchasing system-- Utilizes ERP systems for tracking, information gathering, and troubleshooting-- Controls workflow within Purchasing team to ensure daily workload is completed a timely manner-- Develops processes and oversees the continual review and refinement of operational processes and procedures-- Identifies and analyzes issues directly impacting Purchasing-- Leads, plans, and coordinates teams in an efficient manner to effectively perform job functions-- Utilizes metrics to track performance and manage workload-- Develops training materials/job aides and conducts training on purchasing-- Communicates effectively with internal and external departments to exchange information and resolve issues-- Prepares and submits reports on work activities, operations, and production-- All other job duties as assigned- Skills and Qualifications:- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred-- 5-7 years of applicable job experience-- Experience providing solutions through analysis and investigation-- Experience analyzing continuous quality improvement needs and opportunities and implementing responsive strategies and procedures-- Experience developing employee training and development tools-- Experience with job cost accounting and work in progress processes-- Communicates effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors in a professional and courteous manner-- Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional working relationships with builders, vendors, subordinates, and co-workers-- Exhibits sound and accurate judgment, makes timely decisions, includes appropriate people in decision-making process, and explains reasoning for decisions- Preferred- BS/BA in a related discipline-- Associates Degree / 2-year Technical School-- Material resource planning and/or production control experience with Systems Application Process (SAP)-- Bilingual experience preferred, but not required (English/Spanish)Job Competencies- Strong technology skills and the ability to leverage technology in work processes-- High level of organizational skills, time management skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment to consistently meet deadlines-- Excellent managerial, supervisory and/or leadership skills. Able to develop and motivate others.
