Robert Half is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to work closely with the Data Science and Machine Learning Engineering teams to evaluate automation needs, propose solutions, and build automated test suites. To be successful in this role you should have a very strong understanding of end-to-end automation, testing philosophy, and be comfortable not only executing projects independently, but helping shape software to make automation easier in the future.As a QA Automation Engineer III, your specific responsibilities will include:Be able to understand, at least abstractly, what ML and Data Science processes are being used and how to test them.Prepare test data and scripts, working with the engineering group as needed.Determine use and edge cases given a specific problem and be able to communicate that back to the team strengths and weaknesses in their solution.Help create best testing practices.Help create standardized test datasets that capture baseline and edge cases we might see in the field.Understand, with time, how to deploy, test, and help maintain ML solution in productionDocument test summary report of results and be able to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.Provide code and automation recommendations that will improve efficiency and effectiveness of automation suite.Develop test approach to ensure common framework and identify issues for test planning and execution.Be able to understand statistical metrics and how to implement them for testing purposes.Be able to provide accurate effort estimates for automation efforts and identify risks or challenges associated with testing effort.Work with the engineering leads/business analysts to understand project architecture, business requirements, and nonfunctional requirements to devise a test automation or performance test strategy.Collaborate with the engineering lead/business analysts to identify and define test scenarios and cases for test automation.Facilitate the gathering and documenting of automation test objectives and requirements for input into automation test plan.Confirm problems and document as defects in QA problem tracking tool.Raise issues impacting quality, deadlines or productivity to leadership as appropriate.Collaborate with lead to incorporate best practices associated with tools and test methodology.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.5+ years' of experience with system performance testing.5+ years' of QTP experience preferred.5+ years' of test automation tools such as QTP or Selenium experience preferred.Experience with Java, Javascript and PythonAbility to work as an independent technical lead.Software test planning, execution and validation.Planning, configuration and execution of test automation scenarios.Analysis report configuration and generation.Experienced in defining, configuring and executing test setsCapable of balancing multiple priorities.Strong analytical and problem solving ability.Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.Excellent planning, organizing and follow-up skills.High integrity and a desire to work within a team environment.The typical salary range for this position is $90,000 to $132,000. The salary is negotiable depending upon experience and location.
