From 26 offices in 15 countries, with projects in over 80 locations worldwide, we create sustainable outcomes for our people, clients and communities.Our team in Madagascar is growing and we are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager to join our Team on site.The Ambatovy Nickel Mine is one of the most ambitious industrial undertakings in the history of Madagascar, it consists of an open pit operation and an ore preparation plant. The ore is transported via a 220 KM pipeline to a process and refinery plant on the east coast.The Project scope is to complete the replacement of approximately 120km of the existing 24" ore slurry pipeline.The Project is located between the mine site, 80 KM east of Madagascar's capital and plant site located near Toamasina. The climate in Toamasina is severely hot and humid.**About the role**:- Oversees and manages construction activities, controlling execution in accordance to project specsand baselines, with the support of QA/QC, PCS and Engineering teams.- Requests according to project schedule, construction areas to Legal, HSE and CSR OwnerDepartments (Access Roads, Main Camps, Laydowns/Pipe yards Areas, Work Related Areas, etc) to be delivered to construction contractors.- Assesses and reports as built quantities (Construction Physical Progress).- Coordinates and conducts daily construction meetings with construction contractor to revisedaily objectives and main concerns.- Facilitates and conducts weekly construction meetings with the Construction Contractors to reviseand update a 3 week look ahead schedule.- Ensures that construction constraints are cleared before construction commences to avoid reaching conflict points(permits, engineer documents, materials, contractual issues, etc).- Participates in contractual meetings to clarify matters related to construction.- Coordinates with Ambatovy Operations and in general with any other third party or stakeholders for construction activities that may affect them, including Commissioning Operations.- Leads the interaction with the Construction Contractor and the rest of the Management Team.- Supports and collaborates in the camp's management activities.- Delivers "ready to use" new pipeline sections from Commissioning to Owner Operations.**The role is primarily site based**:The project has a duration of at least 1.5 years. The work will be on site in Madagascar with a shift of 8 weeks work x 4 weeks off. The company covers travel and accommodation expenses.
