Bedrock-Service offers project delivery services in a variety of markets including transportation, water & wastewater, power, oil, building and mining.**Location**:We work on projects all around the world, in large cities and small towns, so our people must be willing to travel and work on site as required. Work assignment locations and durations will be determined by our client s needs. Employees must be able to travel and potentially temporarily relocate as required by our client s needs.**Position Overview**:The primary objective of the Contracts & Claims Specialist is to anticipate and avoid claims between the contracting parties. This is achieved by the early identification of changes to the scope of work, potential conflicts between the parties and other risks to the contract. The development of solid procedures and mechanisms to manage and resolve contractual claims and the creation of data and documentation records in close collaboration with the Project Controls area are essential.**Primary Responsibilities**:- Support the preparation and negotiation of contracts with contractors and suppliers.- Analyse and interpret contract documents, scope, programme, specifications, drawings and any other related information to identify risk areas, conflicts or changes to the scope of work, legal contingencies and make recommendations for the mitigation of these risks.- Support the implementation of procedures that ensure consistency and clarity in the management of contracts.- Support the development of appropriate mechanisms to monitor compliance with the terms and conditions of the contract and manage changes during the contract execution.- Provide contractual advice on the valuation of payments.- Support the development of procedures and mechanisms to to identify, manage and resolve contractual claims.- Prepare contractual claims with all supporting documentation, in coordiation with other project areas.- Provide legal and contractual advise on the settlement of disputes.- Create reports and prepare information about contractual matters.- Review the compliance to insurance policies according to the terms of the contracts.- Provide advice on corporate governance and best practices.**Requirements**:- Bachelor s degree in Law or a technical field, like Construction or Engineering.- Needs both, an excellent technical understanding of projects, as well as an outstanding understanding of contracts, claims and other contractual matters.- Minimum 10 years experience in contracts administration and claims on mayor mining projects.- Fluent in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing. Able to report in both languages.- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including MS Teams for online communications.- Well-organized and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, as well as to coordinate with several departments to accomplish the objectives of the project.- Up-to-date work permit for Chile.- Ability to travel using COVID 19 safety protocols.
