This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about learning to work in the ISP South America Regional Team to support schools with the ISPs Learning First mission.
The Deputy Head of Learning for South America will work in partnership, and report to, the Regional Director of Learning. They will also work alongside the Regional Managing Director, other Regional Functional Leads (Admissions, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources and Facilities), and the wider Learning and Innovation Team across the ISP group.
Based in Santiago de Chile the Deputy HoL will initially have responsibility for schools located in Chile. As such, the role requires a highly proficient Spanish and English speaker, and a significant amount of hands on work-work on the ground to deliver regular in-school support. There is potential in the future for the role to expand to include further schools within the region.
Key Responsibilities: · Contributing to the achievement of ISP's Vision, demonstrating our Purpose, and working in ways that model our Principles.
· Demonstrating and modelling that our students come first, always.
· Embedding within schools everything connected to the 9 Criteria of the Learning Improvement Process and ensuring that schools and school leaders are confident and effective in their use of the self-evaluation process to drive School Improvement.
· Leading learning in all aspects, and modelling the attitude, skills and practices associated with ISP's Learning First approach. These include, but are not limited to, knowing the definition of learning, using the language for learning, conducting learning visits in classrooms, reviewing data and evidence about learning, recognising and celebrating amazing learning, supporting teachers and staff in their professional learning, target setting and School Improvement Planning.
· Gathering, reviewing, and reporting of all data and evidence related to learning (Learning KPIs), and the reporting of that data to other stakeholders, locally, regionally, and centrally.
· Delivering core messages to and working with Regional Managing Directors and Regional Functional leads on all things related to Learning First methodology and initiatives, including identifying and supporting schools' stories.
· Providing advice and consultancy across the schools on new learning-related initiatives, the onboarding of Senior Leaders in schools to the Learning First methodologies, and preparation for external reviews, inspections, and accreditations.
· Communicating the core values and mission of the Learning Hub, championing it, promoting it, and identifying and channelling feedback for further development.
· Supporting the Regional Director of Learning in issues relating to the region as a whole, and working with schools across the region when required to do so.
· Communicating, collaborating and sharing with the other Directors of Learning across the ISP Group wherever possible and appropriate.
Required Capabilities · Near-fluency in English and Spanish with the ability to confidently present and communicate, both verbally and in writing, in both languages.
· Excellent people skills and the ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues, both within the Regional Team and in our schools.
· Confidence in observing learning in lessons and in talking about student learning across the age range, and in distinguishing between learning and the factors that affect learning.
· Strategic thinking that supports school leaders to draw out conclusions, targets and action plans from their observations of learning in school.
· Strong communication skills that ensure clarity when delivering key messages and learning to schools, their staff and their leaders.
· The ability to think and act autonomously, and the motivation to pursue ISP targets for learning at whole-school and Regional levels.
· Confidence in gathering, evaluating and reporting data, both quantitative and qualitative.
· Proficiency in IT skills involved in communicating and sharing information across teams and collaboration.
