Specifically,Report to the Client Board on the material risks to which the Client is exposed and on other specific areas of risks both on its own initiative and following direction from the Board.Assist the Client Board in setting risk management strategy, in developing a risk management framework of the Undertaking?s risk appetite, limits and tolerances, in establishing internal risk management structures, and in ensuring that the necessary resources are available and dedicated to achieving the risk management objectivesWork with the Board and other functions in assessing and defining the risks existing in specific risk areas and from those assessments developing written risk management policies and procedures to manage those risksAssisting the Client Board in assessing the company?s capacity to absorb risk with due regard to the nature, probability, duration, correlation and potential severity of risks, including looking at risks from different perspectives, such as by territory or by line of businessIdentify and assess emerging risks and advising the Board thereonWork with the Client Board and other functions to determine acceptable risk limits for each risk type and facilitating control mechanisms to ensure that limits and procedures are adhered to, and that the company is operating within the risk appetite parameters set by the boardAssist the Client Board in implementing the risk strategy agreed upon by ensuring the effective operation of the risk management system, in particular by facilitation of other functions and by performing specialist analysis and quality reviewsMaintain an organisation-wide, aggregated view of the Client?s Undertaking?s risk profilePrepare reports, either separately or in conjunction with other functions as needed, for formal discussion at Client Board meetings and for presentation to other stakeholders on the material risks faced by the Undertaking and on the effectiveness of the risk management system.Develop documented processes to respond to imminent and post loss risk events, includingcontingency and business continuity programmes. Evaluate on a regular basis the design and operational effectiveness of the risk management system to identify, measure, monitor, manage and report risks the company is exposed to.Advise the Client Board on the effectiveness of strategies and policies with respect to maintaining, on an on-going basis, amounts, types and distribution of capital adequate to cover the risks of the institution.Work with the Client Board and other functions to develop, when applicable, and to regularly carry out, a suitable Own Risk and Solvency Assessment Process (ORSA) and prepare both the ORSA internal & supervisory reports, in conjunction with other functions as appropriate.Support the Head of Office in all Risk Management related matters that are reported to the wider Captive Practice team.Assist with the Business Risk Assessment and Client Risk Assessment of the Management Company.Key Skills and CompetenciesThird level degree and relevant qualifications.Minimum 3 to 5 years? experience in a risk management role preferably in an insurance businessAbility to understand and interpret regulatory requirements.
