To help us accomplish this, we are seeking a qualified **Molecular Research Technician I**. This position will be located in **Lowell, OR**.The Fall Creek Molecular Research Technician I will be part of a team working to utilize molecular tools to accomplish Fall Creek's goals for breeding amazing blueberries. The Molecular Research Technician I is responsible for performing Molecular lab processes, including PCR, DNA extraction and quantification, agarose gel electrophoresis, plant tissue collection in vitro and in field, working with liquid handling machines, and DNA-fingerprinting using various DNA-based markers.**What you'll do at Fall Creek**:- Conducts general Molecular lab proceesses such as plant leaf tissue collection, DNA extraction and quantification, PCR, agarose gel, and operating liquid handling machines according to established protocols while meeting productivity targets and maintaning high standards of quality.- Mole- Assist Molecular Research Lead in various experiments and research activities, and coordinates deliverables/deadlines with other lab members.- Maintain detailed records and documentation of experiments and procedures.- Responsible for ensuring work is completed in a safe and respectful manner.- Assures the highest level of confidentiality on sensitive matters concerning the nursery and genomic data.- Performs other laboratory and office duties like ordering and receiving lab supplies.- Accurately records data of all activities including but not limited to task records, general evaluations, and observations in proper databases as directed.- Always maintains a clean and safe workplace in accordance with established protocols and policies.**What you bring to Fall Creek**:- Undergraduate degree in science or related field and 2 years of related working experience, or MS degree with 1year of related experience (preferred).- Must be able to read and follow detailed instructions, directions, and protocols in English.- Requires a high attention to detail and the ability to observe small deviations.- Requires the ability to be highly organized in handling materials, equipment, and supplies.- Strong collaborative skills, including the ability to develop positive relationships and maintain a positive attitude while working in a team environment.- Excellent oral and written communication skills.- Able to work in a clean environment with limited access to the outdoors.- Regular and reliable attendance at the primary place of business.- Openness to learn new skills and working collaboratively as part of a team.- Ability to meet physical demands of the position.- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work well with people from different countries and with varying English language skills.**Who is Fall Creek?**We're a US-based company with a keen focus on blueberry genetics, plants, and grower support delivered to the world's premier blueberry growers.
