**About the Role**:This position will contribute with the creation of social value by leading the Local Buying Program in Chile, sharing best practices worldwide and delivering key outcomes in terms of local on/off contract direct and indirect spend. You will use your broad skills including strong communication and stakeholder engagement, influencing, problem solving, and commercial acumen to drive commercial and social value outcomes, maximising BHP's competitive advantage and delivering lasting value. You will be at the forefront of helping our business to achieve the commercial social value challenges, while creating and supporting a work environment that values diversity and inclusion in our teams, partners, and community.Your responsibilities will include:- Working collaboratively across Supply (Region, Global and across sub-functions) operational stakeholders to define and deliver the annual Local Procurement Plan to meet 5YP social value targets. You will need to learn and share best practices globally.- Working collaboratively across the business to evaluate and develop high-impact initiatives to drive economic empowerment and local entrepreneurship, and to create awareness about direct and indirect Procurement to create social value.- Developing collaborative relationships with external stakeholders at national and international level to develop an innovation entrepreneurial ecosystem.- Mitigate risk through effective contracting strategies which protect BHP's long term commercial competitiveness.- Leveraging local market knowledge, understanding of business needs and Indigenous procurement priorities.- Managing the delivery of the Local Buying program as contract owner for SAWU Delivery Partner.- Representing BHP externally with the local supplier ecosystem (industrial association, local suppliers, government) securing sustainable relationships.- Engage & Influence at all levels of the organization, to align efforts around local procurement as key element of social value agenda.- Perform as champion for all the reporting related to local spend figures, KPI and specific initiatives related to the role.**About You**:Requirements for success:- A bachelor degree in Business, Industrial Engineering or similar; and an MBA is desirable.- 5+ years of relevant industry experience with a focus on commercial or supply chain.- Proven success in stakeholder management, driving and managing change, empowering people and delivering value.- Proven ability to influence and engage across functions and mine operations site.- High understanding of the entrepreneurial ecosystem is desirable- Ability to analyse complex business processes, risk factors and control systems.
