Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success.Come and be a part of this success**About the Role**:This role appoint to oversee and control all the mechanical engineering definition, standardization, quality, changes, progress and performance of projects contractors in the mechanical disciplines.Main Functions:- Work closely with the Manager Project Engineering, Engineering Team and Project/Study Manager of project in phases PI, IPS, SPS, DPS and execution to ensure project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are in line with the Base Metals business targets.- Ensure that a quality and cost effective designs are employed in the mechanical disciplines.- Ensure the mechanical engineering good practices and quality goals are met and maintained within the projects.- Review and recommend bidders list for key mechanical materials and equipment.- Review and recommend successful bidder for major equipment and bulk material purchases.- Participate with the operational and maintenance team in the engineering workshops (design review, value engineering, maintenance, operability, constructability and HAZOP) to ensure the mechanical requirements are incorporated into the designs.- Coordinate activities and interphase between mechanical consultants and engineering contractors.- Supervise productivity and quality levels of the mechanical engineering contractor's deliverables.- Supervise preparation and approve the key engineering documents produced by engineering contractors and vendors related to the mechanical design of any project or study.- Supervise, on site, field engineering development.- Prepare and review scope of work and technical documents related with the mechanical discipline to call for bids for IPS, SPS, DPS studies or execution projects bids.**About You**:- Mechanical Engineer Degree.- Experience in mining projects.- Knowledge in Concentrate Plant, Conveyors, Crushers, Oxide Plants, Pulp Pumps, Tailings Process, Concentrate Pumping System, Port facilities, experience in cost estimate, execution plans and scheduling of medium and large mining projects.- Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office.- Availability to go to site.**About Our Process**:At BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
