The primary purpose is to provide field and desktop structural geology (ductile to brittle regimes) support and guidance to the LATAM Exploration teams. This involves quality geological mapping and cross-section building (at various scales) and multidisciplinary data integration, analysis, interpretation and modelling (from 2D to 4D). The Regional Senior Structural Geologist, will be closely working with local team and regional technical team, providing support from generative to target testing stages. The final goal is to accelerate the understanding of the geological framework, potential, ranking and probability to discovery large new gold or copper deposits that have an impact on the company's growth, in a safely way, quickly and in line with Barrick's values.**Responsibilities**:- Performing structural mapping across scales (regional to local) and interpreting the most significant information to understand and prescribe the structural processes that would define fluid pathways, magmatic emplacement and related mineralization.- Ensure that explorations teams collect quality structural information and get access to critical structural data that is considered essential to define areas of interest and optimize actions of exploration programs.- Ensure that external data is rigorously validated and integrated according to regional and corporate standards prior to its interpretation.- Perform in-depth analysis and advanced modeling of a multi-disciplinary dataset to support resource/reserve estimation, resource expansion, geotechnical and geometallurgical initiatives in advanced exploration operations.- Provide technical guidance and support to projects by conducting regular site visits and interaction with key project stakeholders and structural geologists of other regions by sharing knowledge and assure implantation of standards by field teams.- Be active in the search for new techniques and implement new advances derived from internal and external research projects.- Analyzing and integrating downhole oriented core analysis is considered an asset.- Ensure that the activities are carried out in accordance with the policies, standards and procedures of safety, health, environment, quality and in consideration of the risks inherent in all areas of management**Qualifications**:- Bachelor of Science in Geology- Postgraduate specialization in Applied Structural Geology, preferred.- At least 8 years of experience in Applied Structural Geology, preferably linked to the mapping of mineral exploration with focus on gold and copper.- Familiarity with epithermal, porphyry, orogenic and sediment-hosted will be an advantage.- Deep knowledge of regional to local geology of LATAM will be an advantage.- Experience in validation, analysis, interpretation, integration, and modeling of large geological data sets.- Experience in using Structural Geology software and analysis.- Experience with 3D and GIS modeling software (Leapfrog etc.)- Availability and demonstrated experience for field work in a large diversity of environments.- Written and spoken English from intermediate level or higher; Spanish preferable.**What we can Offer You**- A comprehensive compensation package including bonuses benefits, and stock purchase plans where applicable- Ability to make a difference and lasting impact- Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team- An Opportunity to transform Traditional Mining into the future of Digital Mining- Opportunities to grow and learn with the industry colleagues are endless- Access to a variety of career opportunities across Barrick locations- Barrick is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
