**About the role**:Our accounting team is growing organically and strategically. In this role you will be the bridge between accounting and payroll functions, providing support to both and ensuring smooth run of operations, strong process ownership. You will be our important and highly valued partner and be encouraged to design bold solutions as such.**What you'll do**:- Owner of Payroll monthly cycle, part of the overall Record to Report (R2R) process- Prepare Journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations- Partner with Payroll function team and internal stakeholders to ensure high quality on deliverables and handle employee and countries specific payroll issues- Create and maintain Operational Desktop Procedures (DTPs)- Drive/support process improvement initiatives within the area (Automation, AI, Robotics, etc.)- Internal controls owner/preparer/reviewer- Prepare MoM variance analysis- Participate in Payroll projects where required- Ensures accurate historical records and accounting ledgers- Participate in establishing and maintaining relevant policies/guidelines- Provides supporting relevant documentation for regulators and auditors- Maintains confidentiality of organizational information**You'll be great for this role if**:- Bachelor's degree (BA) or Master in Accounting/Finance is required- Strong IFRS knowledge, qualified accountant certification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA etc.) will be considered as advantage- 3+ years experience in processing payroll, 5+ years general accounting experience- Ability to critically assesses processes and implement improvements and automations of routine operations- Project management skills- Advanced knowledge in SAP or other ERP systems and MS Office- Advanced knowledge in taxation in personal taxes area- Fluent English, both written and spoken**Why you should join SumUp**- We're a truly global team of 3000+ people from 90+ countries, spread across 4 continents.- Be part of a company that lives and breathes to empower small merchants around the globe;- Have full autonomy (for real!) to propose and implement changes that will up our game;- You'll receive a budget for attending conferences and external training;- Opportunity for hybrid working;**About SumUp**We believe in the everyday hero.Small business owners are at the heart of all we do, so we're creating tools that help them run their businesses.
